International beauty and radiation expert Dr. Gerda Hain is abducted by Italian Nuclear Physicist Enrico Lucetti's mermen. American Peace Diplomat Christopher Smith investigates, swimming through shark-infested waters and he is also attacked by the mermen letting himself be taken captive when he sees Gerda. They try to escape Lucetti's submarine world.
The Peacemaker was created by writer Joe (Doomsday+1) Gill and artist Pat (Flash Gordon, Blackhawk) Boyette.
Story is told in two parts, with separate job numbers but continues page numbering.

Comedian is not the image I think of for the Peacemaker!

The Peacemaker was used as the basis for The Comedian of The Watchmen. I was always glad the actual Charlton Action Heroes weren't used in The Watchmen. I enjoyed them most being left in the Silver Age.
